Dionna came to MND through the Ticket to Work program for disabled adults. Beyond her disability, she also had other barriers that included a large employment gap, no resume or interviewing skills, and a lack of any employment network or professional resources.
Working closely with her Job Coach, she eagerly took instruction and attended all scheduled job search appointments. Dionna also obtained resume assistance, In-person job search support, and transportation assistance to come to MND. She was determined to find a career and move from SSDI to full-time employment. Her drive to become independent was obvious and very encouraging to her coach.
Dionna started a part-time position with the intention to continue to receive her SSDI benefits. But when she learned she could work full-time earning more income and increasing her financial security, she ran with it! In less than a year, Dionna became employed full-time with full benefits, and quickly earned a $1/hr wage increase, now earning $17.20/hrly. Working with LifeBridge Health. Dionne experienced her first tax return and paid vacation in years!
